Halogen Lamp Failure - Osram Good fusing in Osram lamps prevents internal arcing when the filament fails.
Halogen Lamp Failure - Chinese Inadequate fusing leads to arcing at end of life, with a strong risk of the lamp exploding.

Discharge


Snap-Switch Internal Ignitor Heater coil causes a bimetal switch shorting the lamp to open, inductively striking the arc.
